Welcome to an aVidaNova vila (village)

Welcome home! Imagine how each rescued young girl feels when she realizes that she doesn't have to run, to hide, to sleep on the ground, to fear for her life, when she understands that home is a place of love, caring, respect and safety. Welcome to a vila built by aVidaNova and its partners.

aVidaNova is working to build this vila, (or village), to house the families created with the rescued girls. The vila is surrounded by a walled compound that eventually will contain 3 to 4 houses and a community kitchen.

Five young girls rescued over the past few months now live in house number one. They live with their house parents and family in a loving, nurturing environment where they are learning how to become the beautiful young ladies they were designed to be.

Each girl has her own bed and she takes great pride and care of her space. They have room for their own personal belongings, but also learn social skills in sharing space with their sisters.

The houses are approximately 1,300 square feet and feature two baths, 3 bedrooms, and a kitchen/common area. Constructed of the materials common to this area of Brazil they are safe, warm and friendly.

Each girl handles their share of the chores and delight in being given responsibility and relish in the praise of a job well done. Not just the space is shared, they take turns with the dishes, serving food, and learning about all the things that make a house a home.

Tile floors, running water, showers, toilets connected to a sewer system and appliances make these houses comfortable to the family living there.
